Why does concrete settle?
-Concrete can settle for a number of reasons. But these are the most common contributors.
- Soil compaction: If the soil isn't compacted enough before the concrete is poured, it can erode and create voids under the slab, causing the concrete to sink.
- Moisture: When soil absorbs water, it expands, and then contracts as it dries out. This constant fluctuation can cause the concrete to settle. Freezing and thawing in the winter can

- Drainage: Poor drainage can cause channels to wash out the soil under the concrete, causing it to sink.
- Ground slope: If the ground slopes towards the concrete, water runoff can seep into the soil and create instability, leading to sinking.

how do we raise the concrete back to its original height?
-First we determine if the soil deep below the concrete is suitable to hold the weight of the concrete. If it is not we do a deep injection of our specialized foam which binds the soil together creating a concrete like base for the soil above.
-Next we drill our small 5/8 holes (about the size of a dime) in the areas we need to lift and support. Then begin injecting our foam through special ports placed in the holes. Within 13 seconds the foam reacts and fills voids, and begins lifting the concrete back into position. The foam hardens like concrete and only weighs 2 pounds per sq ft.
-We then remove all of our ports and patch the small holes created with high strength cement and sand to match the existing concrete. Within a few months most of our customers cannot even see where the patches are.
